I am a mom of two teenage kids. Along with a full-time job, I juggle home, work, after-school activities for my kids, and a social life. My internal motivation is to be in good health for myself and my family.

I was diagnosed with diabetes 8 years ago. Having gone through gestational diabetes during both my pregnancies I knew this was coming but not so soon. I was immediately put on medications and told to watch my diet and exercise. I let things slide and the numbers kept rising until the last annual physical when the HA1C count was the highest it has ever been – 8.8. That’s when I decided to do something about it. I joined a local fitness group ‘FSM Fitness’ for a 6-week challenge which included 3 days of high-intensity training (cardio and strength) and following a nutrition plan. The 6 weeks were a complete transformation – I have dropped 18 lbs., dropped 3.5% body fat, gained immense muscle strength (from lifting 8-10 lbs. to 20-25 lbs.), planer fasciitis is down to minimal – started running again and MOST importantly dropped 1.8 points on my sugar levels. Yes, ALL this in 6 weeks.

I want to travel the world, see places I’ve never seen before, do things I’ve never done before. “The mind always fails first, not the body.”
